Design and construction of a hydraulically similar experimental circuit for the veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation

The main concern of this study is extracorporeal oxygenation and its usage in the context of hydraulic resistance. There are two types of extracorporeal circulatory support me- thods: ECMO(=Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation), that is used, if hearth or lungs functionality is not suicient, and CPB(=Cardiopulmonary bypass), which is used during open heart surgery. In theorethicall part of this thesis we learn about human body, tech- nology of ECMO and basic knowledge of hydrodynamics and solid mechanics. In practical part we observe the hydraulic impact of oxygenator, comparing pressure waves, their time dilatation and pressure drops, whie using lowpass filter for signal filtering.
